Yes. We regularly host larger groups. Call (208) 344-1350 or email info@proletariatwines.com before your visit so we can set aside space and, if you like, have food ready when you arrive. A 20% gratuity is added automatically for parties of 6 or more. For celebrations and corporate gatherings, see our Private Events page.
Our regular hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 1–7 pm, Thursday 1–8 pm, Friday and Saturday 12–8 pm, and Sunday 12–6 pm. We are closed on Mondays. During the winter season (roughly November 1 through March 15) we close at 7 pm on Thursdays and 5 pm on Sundays. Current hours are always posted on this page and on our Google listing.
We are closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve we are open 1–4 pm, and regular hours resume January 2. Any other holiday changes are posted on our Events page and Google listing.
Saturdays and Sundays are our busiest days, and Tuesdays and Thursdays are the quietest. That said, with two tasting rooms, a ground-floor patio and a rooftop terrace, we can almost always find you a seat, even on a busy weekend.
Most guests stay about two hours, long enough for a flight and a glass or two with a charcuterie board. If you are on a Garden City wine crawl, a shorter stop works too, though many people end up staying longer than they planned.
No. We do not put time limits on tables. As long as we have room, you are welcome to settle in.
Yes. A tasting flight is $18 and includes four 2-ounce pours of your choice from our current wine list, so you can build a flight around whatever you are curious about.
Yes. The $18 tasting fee is waived when you purchase two or more bottles or join one of our wine clubs during your visit.
Yes. Beyond tasting flights, every wine we pour is available by the glass or by the bottle to enjoy in the tasting rooms, on the patio or up on the rooftop terrace.
Nearly all of them. Every Proletariat wine is poured from tap in the tasting room except our sparkling wines and our Syrah, which are served from the bottle. Pouring from tap keeps each glass as fresh as the day it was kegged and eliminates bottle waste. The current tap list is posted in the tasting room and on our Wines page.
Yes. Both of our official Boise State wines, the Blue Turf Blend and Bronco Bubbles, are available to taste in the tasting room, and bottles are available to take home or ship. See the full collection on our Boise State Wines page.
Yes. Along with wine we serve beer, cider and canned cocktails. For non-drinkers and designated drivers we offer lavender lemonade, non-alcoholic cider and beer, a rotating selection of non-alcoholic canned cocktails, Coke products, and plain and flavored sparkling water.
Yes. Most wines we pour are available by the bottle to take home. Non-members receive 10% off when purchasing a full case. Wine club members save on every purchase, by the glass or by the bottle: 15% for Prolo 6 members and 20% for Prolo 12 members. Learn more on our Wine Club page.
Our wines are made at our production facility in Walla Walla, Washington, so there is no working cellar to tour in Garden City. We are happy to show you around the building, though, and during harvest you may spot bins of fermenting fruit for a few weeks. Just ask a team member during your visit.
Our kitchen offers charcuterie boards with specialty meats, cheeses and accompaniments, plus a seasonal menu of small plates that changes for fall/winter and spring/summer.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food. We simply ask that you pack out whatever you bring in and leave the space ready for the next guests.
Because we have our own kitchen, we do not host food trucks on a regular schedule. You will find them at our wine release parties and special winery events, all of which are listed on our Events page.
Yes, and we encourage it. Groups and events can pre-order from our menu so the food is ready when you arrive. Call (208) 344-1350 or email info@proletariatwines.com to arrange it.
Yes. Our menu includes gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Let a team member know about any allergies and we will point you to the best choices.
You have four spaces to choose from: a downstairs tasting room, an upstairs tasting room, a ground-floor patio and a rooftop terrace with views of the Boise Front. Both patios are dog friendly, and every level is reachable by elevator.
The rooftop terrace and ground-floor patio are open whenever the weather allows. Both have sun shades, though they are not rain proof. The rooftop has heaters that stretch the season into the cooler months, but it is a large open space, so most guests move inside during winter.
Yes. The entire building is wheelchair accessible, including both tasting rooms and the rooftop terrace, which is reached by elevator. If you have specific accessibility needs, call ahead at (208) 344-1350 and we will make sure you are comfortable.
We can host groups of just about any size. The upstairs tasting room seats 84 and the rooftop terrace seats 98. Downstairs, the tasting room seats 102 and the patio comfortably holds around 60. Capacities and layouts for each space are detailed in our Private Events brochure.

Yes. Guests under 21 are allowed when accompanied by an adult, and our non-alcoholic drink list includes lavender lemonade and sparkling waters. Because we are a working tasting room, we ask that children stay seated with their group.
Yes, on both patios. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on the ground-floor patio and the rooftop terrace. Pets are not permitted inside the tasting rooms. Service animals are welcome everywhere; please note that comfort and emotional support animals are not recognized as service animals under the ADA.
No. Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the premises, including the patios and rooftop.
No. Outside wine, beer or spirits are not permitted on the premises, so we do not offer corkage. With nearly all of our wines on tap plus beer, cider and cocktails, we think you will find something you like. Outside food is welcome.
For parties of 6 or more, a 20% gratuity is added to the bill automatically. For smaller groups, tipping is at your discretion.
We accept cash, all major credit cards and Apple Pay.
Yes. Gift cards are available in the tasting room in any amount and are delivered by email as a digital gift card code, so you can send one to the recipient right away. They can be used toward wine, flights, food and club sign-ups. Online gift card sales are coming soon.
No dress code. Come as you are, whether you are stopping in after a Greenbelt ride or celebrating a special occasion.
Yes. Casual photos are always welcome, and the rooftop terrace makes a great backdrop. For organized shoots such as engagement or senior portraits, email info@proletariatwines.com ahead of time so we can plan around other guests.
We are at 106 E. 36th Street in Garden City, Idaho, about 5 to 10 minutes by car from downtown Boise depending on traffic, and two blocks from the Boise River Greenbelt.
Park in our lot, in the public lot at 36th and Carr, or on the side streets around the winery. Please do not park on 36th Street itself, and watch for signs at neighboring businesses. Download the Garden City public parking map here.
Yes. The Boise River Greenbelt is about two blocks away, and the side streets make for an easy ride from the river to the winery. Out front you will find bike parking for about 20 bikes on the rings attached to the large steel planter.
Yes. Rideshare drop-off and pickup are easy at our front entrance on 36th Street, and we encourage it if you plan to enjoy more than a tasting.
Plenty. Proletariat is part of Garden City’s urban wine trail, with several wineries, breweries and cideries within two miles, many of them walkable from our door. Read our guide, Spend a Day With Us in Garden City, for our favorite stops.
Something is always happening. We host wine glass painting, paint-and-sip and pressed-flower workshops, live music, wine release parties and Boise State watch parties for every game that kicks off before 6 pm. This fall we are adding wine education classes, glassware tastings, olive oil and wine pairings and a paella night. See the full calendar on our Events page.
Most events ask for an RSVP or ticket, and there is a mix of free and paid events; details are on each event listing. Regular seating stays open to the public during nearly every event, including private parties. In three years we have closed to the public for a private buyout only twice, and we announce those in advance.
Yes. With four distinct spaces, we host birthdays, showers, rehearsal dinners, corporate gatherings and full buyouts. Our dedicated private events manager will help you plan the space, menu and wine. Start with the inquiry form on our Private Events page or download our events brochure.
